Back to School, Back to… Real Estate?

It’s mid-August, which means Calgary parents are starting to hear those magical words: “Back to school!”

Lunch boxes are reappearing, kids have somehow outgrown every pair of shoes they own, and parents everywhere are wondering how summer went by that fast.

But back-to-school season also has a funny way of making us look at our homes a little differently.

Maybe the kitchen suddenly feels too small when everyone is trying to get out the door at once. Maybe you’ve realized that two kids sharing a bedroom was a much better idea in theory. Or perhaps you’re dreaming of a mudroom big enough to contain backpacks, jackets, boots and the approximately 47 water bottles your family seems to own.

And then there’s the big one: schools and neighbourhoods.

For many Calgary buyers with children, the right home isn’t just about bedrooms and bathrooms. School options, commute times, parks, playgrounds and having other families nearby can be just as important.

If a move has been quietly sitting in the back of your mind, fall can be a great time to start figuring out what’s possible — even if you’re nowhere near ready to put a FOR SALE sign on the lawn.

Because sometimes the first sign that you’ve outgrown your home isn’t a real estate sign.

It’s stepping on a backpack in the hallway for the 14th time. 😉

Thinking about a move in Calgary? Let’s chat.

No pressure, no sales pitch — just a conversation about what might make sense for you.
